Coney Named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week

Senior Patrice Coney of the Women's Track & Field team was named the MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week. She is a nursing major with a 3.33 GPA.

Coney set a new school record in the pentathlon with her fourth-place finish at the Penn State National Meet. Her 3,751 points topped her previous school record of 3,677 set last season.

Coney is the fourth Buffalo athlete to earn the MAC's Scholar-Athlete Award during the 2007-2008 year. Junior Andrea Vescio from women's soccer and sophomore divers Melli Carpenter and Michael McDowell have also won the award.
