(In response to letter to the Editor "They're not protestors, they're a hate group" Feb. 13)
It's too bad that you didn't drive by our group in Clearwater when we were saying things like, "We're trying to help you!" and "We love you and care about you!" and, "Save yourself from this cult! There are people who will help you get out!"
I'm 50 years old, a floral designer, and a member of Anonymous. I can barely turn my computer on- the tech guys hate to get a call from me when I flub something up.
I'm appalled that anyone would think we were a hate group. Perhaps you should find out about us before you go spewing lies.
If you knew anything at all about the inner workings of Scientology, you'd be marching right alongside us.
Do some research for yourself!
Google: Lisa McPherson, Operation Snow White, Operation Freak Out, check out the RPF- Rehabilitation Project Force, check out how the Scientologists break child labor laws and the conditions children live in, check out their policy on forced abortions because having a child would interfere with their work for the cult. Tell me why this group has tax-exempt status here in the United States of America even after our supreme court declared them NOT a religion! This tax-exempt status came after their current leader David Miscavige met in a secret meeting with the head of the IRS after the Scienos had fought for over 20 years to become tax-exempt. Details of that meeting have never been made public, even though there is no legal reason for them to be kept from the public.
Educate yourself about this group. Ask yourself why they can step on our first and Thirteenth Amendment rights. Ask yourself why they're tax-exempt. Ask yourself if you can still look at yourself in the mirror and let them keep doing what they do to children.
We're trying to stop the injustices being done to poor souls who are giving up their lives so that David Miscavige and the upper echelons of Scientology can live like kings and queens.
Shame on you for calling us the hate group!
