Drug store robbery near South Campus


The Walgreens on 3488 Main Street was robbed around 9 p.m. on Wednesday night, Feb. 6. Described as a black adult male, the armed thief, standing about 5'10', is still at large.

The armed robber made off with at least $300 cash.

The victim told police that the suspect entered the store wearing a black jacket, dark gloves, a dark backpack and a scarf over his face. He asked for all the money from the cash register and held a handgun, the police report states. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

The suspect faces three offenses including Robbery in the 1st degree and Forcible Theft Armed with a Deadly Weapon.

Police currently have custody of Walgreens' video surveillance, according to the Buffalo Police report. The investigation is pending.
