Bills to play games in Toronto
Sources from ESPN have said that the Buffalo Bills have reached an agreement with the NFL that will alow them to play eight games in Toronto over the next five years. An official announcement is expected to come next week.
The Bills will reportedly play a regular season game at the Rogers Centre every year for the next five seasons. They will also play three preseason games in Toronto over the next five years. The games will not interfere with the CFL season. The Toronto Argonauts play at the Rogers Centre.
Season ticket-holders for the Argonauts as well as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats will have first shot at buying the 8-game package. Bills season ticket holders will then have a shot through a lottery to purchase the rest of the tickets.
Buffalo to hold Women in Sport Celebration
The University at Buffalo will hold its annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Slee Hall. This marks the eighteenth time this event has been held at the University at Buffalo.
National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) is in its 22nd year. It celebrates women's participation in and contributions to sports. NGWSD acknowledges the past and recognizes current sports achievements along with the continuing struggle for equality and access for women in sports.
The day will start with a girls' multi-sport clinic for girls ages 7-14. It will take place at the triple gym at Alumni Arena.
Olympic medalist Anita L. DeFrantz will be the speaker at the main presentation. It will also feature student-athlete speakers. The presentation will begin at 3:30 p.m. It will be followed by a basketball doubleheader with the women facing Central Michigan at 5:00 p.m. and the men taking on Miami (Oh) at 7:00 p.m.
