Soundtrack Watch

What makes a movie? Well, for one thing, it's what we hear in the background. Here are five movies whose success can be directly attributed to the tracks behind the cameras, pacing the plotline's every emotion with perfection.

1.) Ray soundtrack - Hear the Georgia boy at his best and most soulful.

2.) The Last Kiss soundtrack - You know Garden State? Same kind of thing. So if you're about it, enjoy it.

3.) Top Gun soundtrack - Oh yeah, be everybody's problem, you Maverick, and take the highway to the "Danger Zone."

4.) I'm Not There soundtrack- This upcoming Bob Dylan film companion features modern greats, from Sonic Youth to Eddie Vedder to Yo La Tengo, covering both the "Father of Folk Rock's" bigger and lesser known tracks with classy camaraderie.

5.) The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou soundtrack - Sampling David Bowie's best, mostly sung in Peruvian verse, this soundtrack vastly exceeds the pretentious film it accompanies.
