Willy named MAC East Player of the Week
With a career-best 330 passing yards against a Penn State defense that had just given up 261 passing yards all season, Drew Willy was named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week. Willy also completed 28 of 39 passes, raising his completion percentage to seventh best in the nation. It is the second straight week that Willy has earned the honor, after completing 91 percent of his passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns against MAC rival Temple.
Woods considered for top punter award
Bulls punter Ben Woods has been identified as one of 41 players to be considered for the 2007 Ray Guy Award. The award recognizes the nation's best collegiate punter. In just three games, Woods is averaging 42.7 yards per kick, and only three of 15 have been returned. He has three punts of over 50 yards, the longest measured at 58 yards. Finalists will be announced at the end of November, with the award presented live on ESPN on Dec. 6, 2007.
