Former Buffalo Bulls linebacker Ramon Guzman made it through final cuts this weekend to take his place on the Indianapolis Colts' 53-man roster. Guzman, who signed as an undrafted free agent in April, saw action in all four of Indianapolis' preseason games. Guzman was a team captain last season for the Bulls and ranked fourth on the team with 7.4 tackles per game. He was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week following last season's game against Temple, after registering 14 tackles.

Carolina Panthers sign Upshaw to practice squad

The Carolina Panthers signed former Bulls starting tight end Chad Upshaw to its practice squad on Monday. Upshaw was signed by the Panthers as an undrafted free agent in the spring and was waived by the team this weekend as they made their final cuts. Practice squad players may not play in games without first being signed to the 53-man roster.
