Carolina Panthers release former Bull

Tight end Chad Upshaw, the Bulls leader in receiving yards last season, was released by the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday. Upshaw, an undrafted rookie, signed with the Panthers in April and was named to the team's practice squad last week.


Volleyball spiked by Canisius

The Buffalo volleyball team was shut out in its match against cross-town rival Canisius on Tuesday night. The Bulls fell to the host Golden Griffins in a 3-0 decision. Canisius hit .440 to take the first game, 30-20. Although the Bulls scored 12 of the 16 points of the second game, Canisius rallied to take a 30-27 win. The Golden Griffins never looked back and ran away with the third game by a score of 30-15. The Bulls were led by junior Claudia Neba, who registered a match-high 10 kills and freshman Lindsey Schlegel, who recorded 28 assists.
