New assistant coach for women's basketball

This summer the women's basketball team announced the hiring of new assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Cara Pearson. Pearson leaves North Dakota State where she held the same position for four years. Pearson played for current Bulls coach Linda Hill MacDonald at the University of Minnesota.



The softball team will be holding open tryouts for the 2007-2008 season on September 3 at 10 a.m. Tryouts will be held at the Amherst Pepsi Center baseball field. They are open to any female undergraduate student at Buffalo.



Women's soccer head coach Jean-A Tassy has announced that he will retire at the end of the 2007 season. Tassy has coached the Bulls for the last 12 years and enters the season with a career record of 106-97-20 as coach of the Bulls. Tassy led the team to a Mid-American Conference championship in the year 2000, the only Mid-American Conference championship in school history.



The swimming and diving team has added two new coaches for the upcoming 2007-2008 season. Aaron Bell, who spent last season as an assistant for Ohio University, joins the team as an assistant coach. Michael Tomes, who recently enrolled in the exercise science graduate program at Buffalo, joins the team as a graduate assistant after spend his collegiate career at Ohio State University.
