Oliveri and Varsity Eight named Athletes of the Week
Junior Rick Oliveri of the baseball team was named Athlete of the Week along with the entire Varsity Eight women's rowing team,
Oliveri had a strong series against the Ohio Bobcats this past week, batting .600 over the three game weekend set. He hit two doubles and drove in a pair of runs while crossing the plate five times. For the season, Oliveri is batting .269 and has given the Bulls stability at the catcher position.
The Varsity Eight team won the Harvey Cup for the second straight year this weekend. The team defeated the Eastern Michigan squad by 13 seconds to grab the victory.
Women's basketball signs recruit
Head coach Linda Hill-MacDonald announced this week that she has received a signed national letter of intent from Bridgette Kendricks to join the team for the 2007-2008 season.
Kendricks was a standout player at Parsons High School in Parsons, Kan. averaging 15.7 point per game along with 6.5 steals. For her accomplishments on the court throughout her high school career she was named to the Kansas McDonald's All-American Team.
She will join Jessica Fortman and Tieara Jones as the team's signees for next season.
