After losing in the first round of the women's tournament the past two years, the Bowling Green Falcons finally got the chip off their shoulders and represented the Mid-American Conference into the round of 16.

The Falcons (30-3, 15-1 MAC) defeated Oklahoma State, 70-66, in the first round and then went on to beat Vanderbilt, 59-56. Both games were played in East Lansing, Mich. Bowling Green fell to a powerful Arizona State team in the Sweet 16 by a score of 67-53. The Falcons are MAC champions three years running.
