I'm keeping this short.
For the record I'm an independent and hate both you guys ("To the protesting masses," March 9).
Many conservatives blindly follow just as much as liberal college students. Age, while desirable for a spokesman, doesn't equal intelligence.
Additionally, protest is actually patriotic if you consider we live in America rather than Great Britain. We were founded by protestors who'd be glad that a good deal of Americans don't view their political leaders as their betters but rather as their employees (which by the most technical term, they are).
What you're describing as a desirable alternative isn't patriotism but nationalism, a symptom found in 1930s Germany. It would be wise to consider that going THAT opposite direction however, could lead us to an unquestioning mass of cattle much like the USSR. Saying "Shut up, You're wrong because I'm right," while not unpatriotic is probably the most idiotic thing I've heard today. And I just found a link that claims there's a Jewish conspiracy to keep the *fact* that the Earth is really flat from Good Christian eyes (sponsored by a congressman no less).
