Buffalo to host Detroit for BracketBuster
The Bulls will welcome Detroit to Alumni Arena on Saturday, Feb. 17 as part of the 2007 O'Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters. Buffalo will be hosting a BracketBuster game for the first time since they began participating in the event four years ago.
This will be the third time in the last five years Buffalo will be playing Detroit. The two teams met last year in the Las Vegas Holiday Shootout as the Bulls defeated Detroit, 66-60.
Two UB athletes earn conference accolades
Senior thrower Sarah Vance and senior sprinter Reggie Rucker both have been selected as the Mid-American Conference's women's and men's track athlete of the week.
Vance increased her NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the shot put thanks to a victory at the Penn State National Invitational last weekend. Vance's toss of 52-8.75 (16.07m) broke her own record that she had set the week before at the Cornell Upstate Challenge.
Rucker also achieved an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the men's 60-meter hurdles at the Penn State National Invitational. Rucker set a Buffalo record, finishing the semifinal round in a time of 7.89 seconds, more than a quarter-second better than the previous mark.
