Clarke invited to MLS workout

Former Buffalo men's soccer star Andrae Clarke has been invited to travel to Bradenton, Fla. where he will partake in a work out with Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire on Feb. 7-15. The weeklong tryout gives Clarke a chance to play in several exhibition games with the team as well as having his name in the top of the MLS draft this year. Clarke led the Bulls with eight goals and 19 points this past season. The eight goals was second best in the MAC and is one shy of his career-high, which he set last season. Clarke is the third player in UB history to lead the team in both goals and points in three seasons.

Women's tennis voted second by coaches in MAC poll

Making their mark last season by reaching the Mid-American Conference Championship, the league's coaches have selected the Bulls to place second in 2007, according to the preseason poll. The second spot is the highest spot the women's tennis team has placed in the MAC poll. Buffalo received 70 total votes and two first-place nods to finish one point behind Western Michigan (71) in the closest vote in league history. Head coach Kathy Twist, selected as the MAC Coach of the Year in 2006 returns a veteran lineup for the spring with six upperclassmen that have all seen significant time in both singles and doubles play. The Bulls are 2-0 and will start its home play on Feb. 24 against Duquesne.
