Michael McDowell named MAC Swimmer of the Week
Freshman diver Michael McDowell was named the Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week.
McDowell set a new school record on the one-meter springboard with a six-total dive of 323.77. McDowell won the competition by 80 points over the second-place finisher from St. Bonaventure, C.J. Maurer.
Richards wins MAC Field Athlete of the Week
Men's long jumper Roy Richards has been selected as for the Mid-American Conference's Field Athlete of the Week. It marks the second time Richards has been given the award and the third consecutive week a Buffalo team member has been given the award.
Richards finished second in the New Balance Collegiate Invitational against national competition. He broke his own school record in the long jump by an inch and a half with 24-11.75 (7.60m). Richards also achieved a provisional NCAA qualifying mark.
