Morzenti, Starks named Athletes of the Week
Senior Nikki Morzenti of the volleyball team and freshman running back James Starks were named Buffalo Athletes of the Week.
In Buffalo's two game weekend split, Morzenti amassed 28 kills, 22 digs and three blocks against Mid-American Conference opponents. She also had a double-double in a 3-0 win against Akron with 15 kills and 12 digs plus two service aces.
Starks had 24 carries for 162 rushing yards and three touchdowns, all career-highs, Buffalo's 41-14 win over Kent State on Saturday. Starks had 140 yards in the second half, which included a 54-yard career-long scamper in the third quarter. The three scores in one contest tie Starks for fifth all-time in Buffalo history for single game touchdowns.
