Life Desk's Weekly Workout


Focus: Hate drinking water? "Bribe" yourself by purchasing a fun water bottle and drink from that during the day. Make sure to wash the water bottle after each use.


Fitness Tip: During the holiday season, watch your "party calories." Consume vegetables with little or no dip, hummus or olives. Try to consume low calorie and low sugar beverages as well, and only enjoy desserts in moderation.


Exercise Move: Overhead tricep extension

Yen Strengthens and defines the back of the arm (the tricep).

Yen Stand with feet hip distance apart, pelvis tucked under to protect lower back.

Yen Hold dumbbell over head with both hands.

Yen Squeeze elbows towards head.

Yen Lift weight overhead while squeezing elbows together.

Yen Palms are pushed towards the ceiling while the back of the arm contracts.

Yen Lower weight until forearms are parallel to the floor or a 90-degree angle at the elbow.

Yen Begin with one set of 10 repetitions and increase to three sets of 10 reps, with one minute between sets.
