Two Bulls honored preseason
The Mid-American Conference announced this week that two Bulls have been selected as members of the preseason All-MAC Team. The men's team will be represented by senior Yassin Idbhi, and on the women's side of the court junior Heather Turner was selected.
The honor is bestowed on the athletes by the members of the MAC News Media Association and is compiled using stats from prior seasons. Idbhi the senior forward has been selected to be on the preseason All-MAC Team three straight seasons and is the first Bull to accomplish this feat.
Idbihi is coming off his best season at Buffalo in which he averaged 14.0 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. He became just the ninth player in Bulls history to score 1,000 points in his first three seasons and also ranks 12th in school history with 1,072 points.
Turner is the first women's basketball player for the Bulls to be selected to the team since the 2003-04 season. She is coming off last season when she finished 6th in the nation and first in the MAC in field goal percentage. She converted on 61.1 percent of her shots and led the Bulls in scoring and rebounding.
Turner was also selected to the All-MAC team at the end of last season and was honored as MAC player of the week twice. During the 2004-05 season as a freshman Turner was MAC freshmen of the year.
Both teams open the season at Canisius on Nov. 10 with tip-off for the women's team set to begin at 6 p.m. with the men's game following.
Baylor packs bags for Buffalo

The Baylor game is the second non-conference game added to the schedule, the first was Penn State who will play the Bulls on Sept. 15, 2007.
