UB to help promote girls' sports programs
The City of Buffalo Public Schools and area universities, including the University at Buffalo, will be collaborating with the Buffalo Bills and the Girl Scout Council of Buffalo & Erie County to form the WNY Girls in Sports - "Girls Got Game" program. The new program seeks to expand involvement in sports amongst young girls (ages 9-12).
Former UB track star Faith Thompson was the guest speaker at the kickoff event at The Field house at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday.
