NCAA student-athlete graduation rates improve
The Graduation Success Rate for NCAA Division I sports has increased by a percentage point from last year. The GSR now stands at 77 percent, which is up from last year's 76 percent, and is even closer now to NCAA President Myles Brand's goal of an 80 percent GSR.
Several sports are already above the 80 percent mark, with skiing having the highest mark of men's sports with 89 percent, and five sports tying for the top women's sport with 94 percent.
Basketball had the lowest GSR amongst men's sports with 59 percent, while the lowest women's sport was bowling, with 70 percent.
