Weather causes match cancellations
Due to the extreme weather that has affected Western New York and Buffalo, Friday's women's soccer match that was scheduled against Toledo was cancelled. Saturday's men's and women's swimming meet was also postponed and a make-up date has not yet been determined.
The men's and women's basketball open practice which was supposed to take place this past Saturday was also postponed. No make-up date has been announced. Both the Buffalo men's cross-country team and the women's team stayed in the Buffalo area during the storm and did not go to their respective tournaments. Both teams will not reschedule either meets.
Weekly top honors awarded
The athletics department announced its athletes of the week, with the recipients being freshmen running back James Stark of the football team and senior Brandie Clark of the volleyball team.
Stark had a career-best day with 119 yards rushing, as well as five receptions, which totaled 68 yards receiving. Starks became the Bulls' first freshman to go over the century mark in rushing in a game since Aaron Leeper, who accomplished the feat in the 2002 season. He also recorded 181 all-purpose yards, which was almost half of the total offensive yards for the Bulls.
Clark totaled 99 assists in the Bulls' three-match road trip this past week. Her biggest performance came in the game against Kent State, which included a 55-assist performance in the Bulls' four-game win. The 55 assists was only one shy of her career-best mark. Clark also added 10 kills and 16 digs in the other three victories and finished with a team-best five blocks for the week.
