Men's basketball schedule released
The athletics department announced the 2006-07 schedules for the men's basketball team. This season's schedule is highlighted by a visit from the Pittsburgh Panthers. Pittsburgh will play the Bulls at Alumni Arena on Dec. 9th and has made it to the NCAA Tournament the past five years and the Big East championship last year.
The Bulls will also be playing an ACC team when they meet Miami (FL) at the Youth American Classic on Nov. 17-19. Also lined up to face the Bulls is another Big East team, the South Florida Bulls. That game will be the second of the season and will be Nov. 19 in Tampa.
The Bulls will also continue their tradition of playing cross-town rivals when they face Canisius on the Golden Griffins' home court Nov. 10. They will also meet the Purple Eagles of Niagara at home on Dec. 2.
Buffalo will host an ESPN Bracket Buster game on Saturday, Feb. 17 at home, which may be aired on one of the many ESPN stations.
Women's basketball schedule released
Second year head coach Linda Hill-MacDonald announced the 2006-07 schedule for the Bulls, which begins with 13 non-conference games. For the second straight year, the Bulls begin the season facing local rival Canisius on Nov. 10, in a doubleheader with the men's team.
This rivalry playoff will be one of four doubleheaders with the men's basketball team. The Bulls will play their first five games on the road, including trips to Detroit on Nov. 14 and the St. Bonaventure Tournament in Elmira, NY.
Following the new year, the Bulls will open up conference play by hosting Miami (OH) on Jan. 3. The Bulls will face each member of the Mid-American Conference East Division twice, and will play each member of the MAC West once.
