Bull earns conference honors

Buffalo senior linebacker Ramon Guzman was named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week after his performance in the Bulls 9-3 overtime victory against Temple last Thursday. Guzman, an outside linebacker, recorded a career-best 14 tackles, 7 which were solo.

The captain earned MAC honors for the first time in his career and his 14 tackles were the second most in the conference during the first week of action. In addition, to the MAC honors, the Bulls' coaching staff named Guzman as the team's Special Teams Player of the Week as well.


Athletes of the Week announced

Freshman running back James Starks and junior Lizaiha Garcia were named Athletes of the Week. Starks of the football team scored the winning touchdown in its overtime victory against Temple. Starks rushed for 85 yards on 14 carries, which included the 18-yard game-winning run.

Garcia of the volleyball team recorded her 1,000th career dig this past weekend as the Bulls swept three matches at the Western New York Invitational. Garcia also collected 29 digs, one shy of her career high against Coastal Carolina. She now has 1,022 for her three seasons at Buffalo.
