Football first scrimmage
The football team had its first intra-squad scrimmage Saturday afternoon. This was head coach Turner Gill's first opportunity to see his team at a competitive level.
"The guys started off a little slow today," Gill said in a press release. "But I liked where the intensity level was and overall it was pretty good work for out first full scrimmage. The biggest thing we looked for was the way they responded without coaches on the field for the first time, and playing hard every single play."
After two more weeks of practices, the football team will finish its spring schedule with the Blue-White scrimmage on April 22 at 2 p.m. at UB Stadium.
Rain stymies Buffalo teams
Poor weather conditions caused the cancellation of Friday's softball doubleheader with the Central Michigan Chippewas and the postponement of Friday's baseball game against the Toledo Rockets.
Baseball's game against Toledo was made up on Saturday in a doubleheader while softball's match against Central Michigan will not be made up.
