Canadian director Atom Egoyan, paints a tragic portrait of a town overcome with grief when a school bus falls through the ice, killing nearly all of a small town's children. It is a passionate, poignant look at how grief touches us all and interrupts our normal human interaction.
Classic: "Fanny and Alexander" (1982)
A dark and disturbing emotional epic, "Fanny and Alexander" chronicles the trials of two young siblings in early 20th Century Sweden. What was supposed to be Ingmar Bergman's cinematic swan song is one of the most critically acclaimed films of all time. This beautifully mysterious, and elegantly shot masterpiece covers the emotional gamut.
