TA arrested for cocaine possession on New Year's

Updated: All charges against Todd Doran pertaining to this 2006 incident have been dropped.

Officers responding to a complaint of a loud party in a downtown motel arrested a UB teaching assistant on charges on possessing cocaine with the intent to sell in the early hours of Jan. 1, according to The Buffalo News.

Todd M. Doran, 22, of Simson Street in Tonawanda, was arrested in a suite of the Comfort Inn at 601 Main St. at 5 a.m. Doran is a student in the School of Management.

Officer John Paradowski said he looked under a couch and found a large mirror with eight "lines" of powder cocaine on its surface. Central District officers said they also recovered a price list for cocaine that allegedly was in a large black box in Doran's hand at the time of the raid.

Officer Jeff Varecka said Doran told him that the box contained CDs and that he could not get into it because it was locked. Varecka said the box was opened and contained several white and green pills, according to The Buffalo News. Officer Jeffrey Mott also took part in the arrest.
