Grapplers earn six national rankings
Six UB wrestlers have propelled themselves onto the national scene as they received national rankings on Monday from WrestlingReport.com. Senior All-American Kyle Cerminara led the Bulls with the highest of the rankings as he was slotted in the fifth spot at 197-pounds. Junior Mark Budd, 133-pounds, broke into the top 20 for the first time in his career as he received a No. 18 ranking.
Four other Bulls were ranked in the top 30 in their respective weight class: sophomore Dana Gingerich is ranked No. 27 at 141 pounds, sophomore Mickey Moran is ranked No. 27 at 165 pounds, senior Garret Hicks is ranked No. 27 at 184 pounds, and senior Harold Sherrell is ranked No. 26 at Heavyweight.
Baseball announces class of 2010
Head Coach Bill Breene has named six new recruits for the baseball team's 2010 graduating class. Breene picked up three Ohio recruits with the acquisition of left-handed pitcher RL Eisenbach of Newark, right-handed pitcher and first baseman Kori Korenek of Cuyahora Falls, and outfielder Bobby Pizzuto of Kirltand. In addition, UB signed Shivam Bhan of Caledon, Ontario, right-handed pitcher Jeff Hains of Mexico, N.Y. and outfield Adam Skonieczki of Endicott, N.Y.
Eisenbach boasts a 93-mph fastball and has compiled a 15-2 career record at Newark Catholic High School where he earned Puma All-American honors. Korenek has struck out 99 batters during his time on the hill at Woodridge High School where he touts a .383 batting average and a 2.27 ERA.
