MAC rankings
The Mid-American Conference announced Saturday that the UB wrestling team shares a second-place ranking with Northern Illinois in MAC pre-season polls. The team is led by senior captain Kyle "the Homeboy" Cerminara, who was ranked second in the 197-pound weight class, and sits behind the number-one-ranked Central Michigan.
In addition to Cerminara's individual ranking, the team also boasts seven other grapplers who are ranked in their respective weight classes. Senior Garret Hicks (184), junior Mark Budd (133), junior Jake Blower (160) and sophomore Nate Rock (174) are all ranked second in their weight classes, while sophomore Dana Gingerich (141) is ranked third and sophomore Scott Rendos (157) and Harold "the Cobra" Sherrell (heavyweight) are both ranked fourth.
