Volleyball drops two MAC contests



The UB volleyball team (9-15 overall and 1-9 in the MAC) struggled in MAC play last weekend as they were swept in conference games against Bowling Green and Miami (Ohio). The Bulls faced Bowling Green (13-9 overall 6-4 in the MAC) on the road on Friday, followed by another road contest at Miami (Ohio) (14-7 overall 7-3 in the MAC).

In Friday's match, junior Nikki Morzenti and senior Katie Weekley led the Bulls. Morzenti had 10 kills on the day while Weekley earn nine kills and four blocks. Junior Brandie Clark also pitched in with eight kills and a match-high 14 digs.

In Saturday's contest Weekley had nine kills and five blocks while junior Lauren Burd had nine kills and six blocks. Sophomore Lizaiha Garcia earned a team-high 14 digs and senior Amy Brown tallied 35 assists.

The Bulls will travel to Eastern Michigan on Friday for a 7 p.m. start.
