MAC Standings
Despite a Mid-American Conference record of 9-11 after Wednesday night's loss in Kent State, the UB men's basketball team is still in third place in the MAC East and in the runnings for a home playoff game.
The Bulls trail the 11-1 Flashes and 8-4 RedHawks in the East, but still play both of those teams twice. While it is unlikely that they catch either of those squads, Buffalo is only one game behind the MAC West third and fourth place teams, Bowling Green (6-6) and Ball State (6-6).
Although the Bulls are under .500 themselves in the conference, four of their remaining six conference games are against sub-.500 teams including Central Michigan (1-11), Eastern Michigan (4-8), Ohio (5-7) and Akron (5-8).
It may come down to the games against Kent State at home and Miami (Oh) on the road however. Buffalo also plays non-conference Indiana State in the ESPN Bracket Buster game at 4 p.m. on Feb. 24. in Indiana.
Women's Basketball
The athletics department announced that Sunday's UB-Akron game, which was supposed to be broadcast on WWKB-AM 1520 Radio, will no longer be broadcast because of a scheduling conflict.. The Bulls' game vs. Miami (Ohio) on Feb. 28 will now be broadcast on 1520 AM. The game, which is scheduled to tip-off at 2 pm is part of a doubleheader with the men's team.
