Junior guard, Turner Battle, of the men's basketball team was named to the College Sports Information Director's of America Academic All-District I University Division Men's Basketball Team.
Last season, Battle, a communication major with a 3.47 GPA, was the only player named to the Mid-American Conference All Conference and Academic All-Conference teams. This season Battle leads UB with 14.3 points, 3.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
Also on the first team are UConn's Emeka Okafor, Syracuse's Craig Forth, Brown's Patrick Powers and Fairfield's Rob Thompson.
Battle will now go on to a national ballot that will decide who earns National Academic All-American honors.
