The Buffalo and University Police departments are collaborating in an ongoing investigation into the abduction and robbery of UB two students.
The students were abducted from Spaulding Lot, near the Ellicott Complex, on Nov. 23, according to police.
According to Richard Linde, assistant director of public safety at UB, two male students, one on-campus resident and one off-campus resident, were robbed of money and property at gunpoint after being forced into a vehicle at approximately 8 p.m. He said they were released several hours later near the LaSalle subway station on Main Street.
The abductions may be part of a series of related crimes that occurred on Oct. 28 and Nov. 14, according to a Buffalo News article.
"We've never had this type of crime before," Linde said.
According to Linde, the Buffalo Police have arrested one man in connection with the crime.
University Police have posted flyers on campus warning students about the incident.
Three black males are suspected of committing the crimes, according to the flyers. The victims described a 6-feet-3-inches, 230-pound man wearing a UB Bulls hooded sweatshirt and glasses, a 6-feet, 170-pound man wearing a dark hat and jewelry and a 6-feet, 250-pound man with a very dark complexion as the perpetrators.
Linde said anyone with information regarding the crime should contact the University Police at 645-2222.
