Women's Basketball

The Bulls announced the early signing of Stephanie Bennett, a 5-foot-10-inch guard out of Springfield, Ohio, to the team. She will join the Bulls for the 2004-05 season, which will also be her older sister Allison's senior season at Buffalo. The younger Bennett was named the Springfield News-Sun player of the year and an All-State honorable mention. Bennett averaged 22 points, 8.9 rebounds, 5.9 assists and seven steals in her junior year last season.

Men's Swimming

The UB men's swimming team is preparing to compete in the U.S. Open championships this weekend. Buffalo will be sending eight swimmers to the event to swim in both single competition and team competition. Headlining for UB is Mid-American Conference champion Aviv Oren, who clinched the MAC title in the 100-distance at Alumni Arena in March. The Open starts Dec. 4.

MAC Championship

Last night's Mid-American Conference Championship game between No. 23 the Bowling Green State University Falcons and No. 15 Miami of Ohio was close until half time, but did not live up to the hype in the end. Miami's Ben Roethlisberger ended the game 25 of 34 for 440 yards and four touchdowns in the 49-27 scorching of the Falcons.
