In the Friday, Nov. 5 issue, The Spectrum noted that some senior English majors have complained about the lack of required Chaucer or Milton courses in our Spring 2004 schedule. On behalf of the department, I'd like to apologize for this oversight in scheduling, but also assure graduating seniors that substitutes for either the Chaucer or Milton course are available.
These include any 300/400 level courses in literature before 1830. If senior English majors have any further questions about the Chaucer or Milton requirement, they should come to the undergraduate English office, Clemens 303, and check with either Linda Bogdan or myself.
