Men's Tennis

Buffalo junior Nick Zieziula completed his spectacular run Monday afternoon at the Omni Hotels ITA Northeast Regional Tournament. Zieziula faced Virginia Tech freshman Morten Schultz in the consolation finals. The event is one of 17 regional championships for NCAA Division I men's and women's indoor tennis. Zieziula was defeated when Schultz pulled out a straight-sets win, 6-3, 6-4, to claim the title.

Crew

UB crew participated in the Head of the Charles rowing event in Massachusetts over the weekend. The team finished with an adjusted time of 17:24.769, good for sixth out of 38 boats in the tournament. Queen's University of Canada took top honors at the event, finishing with a time of 16:47.321.

Buffalo Sabres

The Buffalo Sabres (2-4-0-0) continue the longest road trip in team history on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Kings (3-2-0-0), and then play the defending Eastern Conference Champions, The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (0-4-0-0) on Friday night. Buffalo recently lost to the Vancouver Canucks (3-2-1-0) 6-1 on Monday night. Mika Noronen, who had pitched a shutout against the Calgary flames in last Saturday's 2-0 victory, was shelled in the first period, giving up three goals on eight shots.
