Spectrum Athlete of the Week
Junior volleyball player Molly Schrantz is this week's Spectrum Athlete of the Week. In the Bulls' three-game sweep of the Niagara University Purple Eagles, Schrantz had 16 kills to lead the Bulls. She was also second on the team in scoring,, with 16.5 points.
Goat of the Day
Kyle Farnsworth grabs today's title of "Goat of the Day" for giving up crucial runs in both games six and seven of the National League Championship Series against the Florida Marlins, effectively flushing down the World Series hopes of Cubbie fans everywhere in a span of just a few innings. Perhaps there is no curse, just a lack of execution. We salute you Kyle.
Pro Sports Update
The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox in a classic game seven of the American League Championship Series by a score of 6-5 on Thursday night. New York will now face the Florida Marlins in the World Series, a match up that is much to the dismay of all that wanted to see the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox. In conclusion, God does not exist.
National Hockey League action also went down on Thursday night as the Edmonton Oilers were able to thwart the Buffalo Sabres 4-1 in Edmonton.
