UB Crew


The UB crew team competed in two regattas this weekend and the Bulls came home with plenty of hardware to show for it. At the Head of the Niagara Regatta, hosted by the West Side Rowing Club, the Bulls won all three races they entered. The varsity eight, novice four and eight teams all won their races. At the Stonehurst Regatta in Rochester, three Bulls teams placed in the top five. The varsity eight team placed second, the lightweight four team placed first and varsity four placed second.


MAC Football

ESPN has announced that the Northern Illinois vs. Bowling Green game on October 25 will be shown on ESPN2. The game, which will take place at Bowling Green, will be the first all Mid-American Conference game ever nationally telecasted on a Saturday. The NIU Huskies are currently ranked No. 12/16, while Bowling Green continues to receive votes for both polls.


Buffalo Sabres

The Sabres picked up their first win of the young season Monday afternoon against the Western Conference powerhouse Dallas Stars by a score of 4-3. Buffalo, which was shutout by the Islanders 6-0 and Flyers 2-0 in their first two contests, got a goal and an assist from Daniel Briere and Miroslav Satan in the win. Ales Kotalik and Taylor Pyatt also tallied goals for Buffalo. The Sabres kick off a six game road trip in Edmonton Thursday night.
