Kate McMeeken-Ruscoe
For the first time in her career, Kate McMeeken-Ruscoe of the UB women's basketball team has been named MAC East Player of the Week.
She has played amazing basketball in the past week, averaging 26 points, five rebounds and 3.5 assists in the past two games against Ohio and Central Michigan. Ohio felt the worst of her wrath, as she detonated against them for 30 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals.
The 30-point feat made her the first Bull to score 30 in a game since Mari McClure did so against Bowling Green in 2001.
Athletes of the Week
Along with McMeeken-Ruscoe, who was also named UB female athlete of the week to go along with her MAC award, Kyle Cerminara of the Buffalo wrestling team was named male athlete of the week.
Cerminara, a sophomore, posted a 3-0 record against the MAC during the weekend. His season record now stands at an incredible 30-9, with an 11-2 dual-meet record and a 4-1 record against the MAC.
