The UB men's basketball senior forward received Honorable Mention honors for the 2002 All-MAC team. Williams led the Bulls with 15.1 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game. He posted nine double-doubles and was one of two players to start all 30 games for Buffalo.

John Sullivan

MAC honors went to the UB baseball pitcher as he was selected as the MAC East Division Player of the Week Tuesday. Sullivan allowed just one run (unearned) on six hits in five innings of work during Buffalo's 8-5 win over Southern Mississippi Sunday.

Buffalo's win over SMU Sunday was more than just their first win in 2002; it was a stepping stone for the entire program. Southern Miss., expected to contend for a Conference-USA title, had beaten nationally ranked Nebraska and Mississippi earlier in the week before the Bulls knocked them off.

"I am so proud of this team ... this win showed us that we can compete with anyone we suit up against," UB Head Coach Bill Breene said.

"I have never seen Coach so happy before in my life," said UB pitcher Anthony Puccia.
