UB women’s soccer (12-4-2, 8-3-1 MAC) closed out the regular season with a 2-0 to Western Michigan (14-3-1, 11-1-1 MAC) Wednesday afternoon in Buffalo.
Friday night the UB Women’s Soccer team (3-2-1, 0-1-0 MAC) fell 1-0 to the Eastern Michigan Eagles (2-3-2, 1-0-0 MAC) in their conference opener.

After beating the Akron Zips (5-2-2, 0-2 MAC) 2-0 on the road this past Thursday, the Bulls (7-0-2, 2-0 MAC) returned to UB Stadium on Sunday to battle the Eastern Michigan Eagles (4-4-1, 0-1-1 MAC), winning 1-0 after a goal in the 72nd minute.
The UB women’s soccer team (5-0-2, 0-0 MAC) drew 1-1 against the Colorado College Tigers (4-4-1, 0-0 MW) and beat the Northern Colorado Bears (2-7, 0-0 Big Sky Conference) 2-0 this past weekend. After a dominant preseason, the Bulls are now the second ranked team in the MAC going into conference play.
Following last Wednesday’s victory over Canisius (2-1-1, 1-0 MAAC), the UB women’s soccer team (4-0-1, 0-0 MAC) trounced the Colgate Raiders (1-5-1, 0-0 Patriot League) by a score of 3-0 at UB Stadium on Sunday.
After ending the season with back-to-back losses, UB women’s soccer (7-5-6, 4-4-3 MAC) failed to qualify for the Mid-American Conference (MAC) tournament for the first time in head coach Shawn Burke’s tenure.

With one game to play in the regular season, UB sits at No. 6 in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) standings, ahead of Toledo and Ohio (5-7-5, 3-4-3). The top six teams make the MAC Tournament, leaving the defending MAC champion Bulls on the edge of postseason contention with one game, against Kent State (9-6-2, 6-4 MAC), left in the season.
The loss knocked UB to fifth in the MAC. They currently don’t qualify for the MAC Championship with five games to go.
Thursday’s game had both teams battling the entire 90-minute allotment, with each side holding the lead at different points in the game.
Last year, UB women’s soccer won its second MAC championship in program history after a historic 17-game winning streak. But that was 2022.
The Bulls kept up their reputation as a “second half team” in their last game before MAC play.
