UB women’s basketball off to 6-0 start

The chemistry of the women's basketball team and head coach Felisha Legette-Jack, evident in a recent team trip to Universal Studios, is one reason the Bulls (6-0) defeated Central Florida and Clemson of the Atlantic Coast Conference for it’s best start since the 2000-01 season.

UB women’s basketball defense leads way for season-opening victory

Despite a less-than-stellar offensive performance, the Bulls (1-0) picked up a season-opening 55-38 victory over LIU Brooklyn (0-1) on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Arena. Buffalo shot less than 40 percent from the field, but was relieved by a stellar defensive performance. The 38 points allowed are the fewest for Buffalo since Feb. 23, 2013.


Kristen Sharkey, one of the most prolific players in UB Bulls history, looks on as an assistant coach under current Bulls head coach Felisha Legette-Jack.

UB Bulls' Sharkey goes from post to the sidelines

Sharkey is one of the most prolific players in program history. She ranks fifth in program history in both career games (120) and free throws (305), 10th in rebounds (759) and 11th in blocks (98). Sharkey returns as an assistant coach to teach the young wave of new Bulls what it’s like to play in Buffalo.


Sophomore Alexus Malone prepares to shoot a free throw. Malone averaged 10.5 points and 7.7 rebounds in 32 games for the Bulls last season.

Alexus Malone transfers to Louisiana Tech

The women’s basketball team lost its top-two scorers from this past season due to injury and graduation. Now the team has lost its third-leading scorer due to a transfer. Sophomore forward Alexus Malone announced on Friday she is transferring to Louisiana Tech – ending her two-year stint with the Bulls.
