This fall semester has been an exciting one for UB athletics, and in case you were too busy studying, we’re here to catch you up on what's happened in Alumni Arena and beyond!

Senior athletes find another chance to compete in their final season

Rachel Barich couldn’t wait for her final season at UB. The senior distance runner was ready to show what her lifetime of work had built up to. She was ready for her moment in the spotlight. But the NCAA cancelled all spring-sport seasons on March 12 due to the COVID-19 outbreak, leaving senior athletes without their senior seasons.

The Bulls’ silver lining

Selina Von Jackowski left Saturday’s Mid-American Conference championships with a school record and a silver medal. The junior’s time of 8.40 seconds on the 60-meter hurdles beat the previous school record of 8.44 that stood for five years.

Winter Rundown

Men’s Basketball (16-6, 8-1 MAC) The Bulls have looked like killers in the MAC so far this season. Despite a recent close loss to Kent State (12-10, 6-3 MAC), the Bulls have won nine of their last 10 games. Seven of those wins were by 10 points or more. The team started the season with some impressive individual performances, but now the Bulls have been playing on a more consistent level.

Rundown: This week in UB Athletics

Men’s basketball (13-12, 7-5 Mid-American Conference) Buffalo’s men’s basketball team continued its win streak this week when they picked up two more victories against the Northern Illinois Huskies and Bowling Green Falcons.

The Rundown: Weekend in UB Athletics

UB men’s basketball defeated Ball State (15-8, 6-4) 96-69 Friday in a nationally televised game at Worthen Arena. It was the third straight game in which the Bulls scored 90 points, the first time they have done that since the ’94-’95 season.

Catching up with some of best recent UB Bulls

They were some of the most prolific players to ever wear the blue and white. They broke records, won championship and brought some prominence to Mid-Major program over the course of their careers. But what happens to these players after they walk for graduation? The Spectrum caught up with a few recent Bulls graduates from the past few years.
