UB Bulls looking for consistency against Ohio to avoid 0-3 MAC start

Head coach Lance Leipold knows his team isn’t playing consistent enough to be a winning football team. That’s evident by Buffalo’s three-game losing steak that has it near the bottom of the Mid-American Conference. Buffalo posted 500 yards of offense in a close loss to Bowling Green three weeks ago, but sputtered last Saturday and finishing with 236 yards of offense in a 51-14 loss to Central Michigan (3-4, 2-1 MAC) and has been up and down all season.

The Buffalo football team struggled in many areas throughout the entire game, and it resulted in one of the worst team performances by the Bulls in recent memory in a 51-14 blowout loss to Central Michigan on Saturday.

Central Michigan crushes UB Bulls 51-14

Central Michigan (3-4, 1-2 Mid-American Conference) defeated the Bulls (2-4, 0-2 MAC) 51-14 loss Saturday at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. It was Buffalo’s third consecutive loss and the fourth game in a row it has allowed more than 350 yards of total offense.

UB Bulls vs. Central Michigan: Who has the edge?

The Buffalo football team (2-3, 0-1 Mid-American Conference) will make a rare trip to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on Saturday to continue MAC play against Central Michigan (2-4, 1-1 MAC). Both teams have weapons that can easily make or break the game for each side. But who will those players be? Who has the edge at each position? The Spectrum broke it down.

Central Michigan quarterback Cooper Rush is set in the pocket ready to throw with the Ohio pass rush charging. Rush and the Chippewas will take on Buffalo on Saturday.

UB head coach Leipold: 'We just need to play ... better'

On Saturday, the Bulls (2-3, 0-1 MAC) will try to get their first conference win of the Leipold era when they travel to face Central Michigan (2-4, 1-1 MAC) at Kelly/Shorts Stadium in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. It will only be Buffalo’s second time playing at Central Michigan since joining the conference.

After bumpy beginning, Nick Forrester key component of UB men’s soccer defense

For sophomore defender Nick Forrester, the first month of his tenure at UB was nothing short of constant change. The New Zealand native who had transferred from Butler University was adjusting to a new school and playing with a new cast of teammates. But now Forrester, who was touted as one of the best new players on the 2015 squad, has finally adjusted and is one of more important members of the Bulls.

Akron defeats UB men’s soccer 2-1

Based on the previous 89 minutes and 55 seconds, you couldn’t blame him. The men’s soccer team had played tough with the No. 8 team in the nation with stellar defensive play and an early goal in the first half, but it was still on its way to a defeat and 0-1 to start to Mid-American Conference play.

Top basketball recruit Rawle Alkins jokingly tweets he’s coming to UB

Alkins, from Brooklyn, New York, tweeted minutes later that he had not committed to Buffalo and that “people at his school [were] playing with [his] phone.” The tweet caused shock across social media during that small time span though, as Alkins has offers from schools like Kentucky and North Carolina, according to ESPN.

UB men’s soccer enters MAC play peaking at right time

The Bulls will start MAC play hosting the No. 8 team in the country, Akron (8-2-1), on Friday at UB Stadium. Buffalo was in position to make the MAC Tournament last season after 1-0-2 start to conference play, but finished the season with two losses in which it was outscored 7-0. In Year Three of the Riddle era, Buffalo may finally be ready to take a step forward as a program.

UB men's basketball has no reason to panic about losing Hurley, Evans and Moss

The 2014-15 men’s basketball team entered the season without its top three players from the year before. The team wasn’t big. They didn’t have elusive scorers. They were bounced in the first round of the 2014 Mid-American Conference Tournament after some projected them to win it all. But alas, all the naysayers were silenced when the Bulls went on the shock the conference and win the MAC. Why can’t that happen again?
