Women’s soccer clinches MAC tournament spot following win and draw

In what was their final home game of the regular season, the UB women’s soccer team (10-1-6, 5-1-4 MAC) defeated the reigning Mid-American Conference (MAC) champions Ohio (10-3-4, 5-2-3 MAC) by a score of 2-0 at UB stadium on Thursday night. They followed this performance up with a 1-1 draw against the Miami RedHawks (7-4-6, 3-3-4 MAC) on Sunday afternoon, securing a spot in the MAC tournament.

Looking to defend the top spot of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and their six-game winning streak, the UB women’s volleyball team (11-11, 7-2 MAC) hosted both the Bowling Green Falcons (12-8, 7-2 MAC) on Thursday and the Toledo Rockets (13-8, 6-3 MAC) on Friday, going 1-1.

Football defeats divisional rivals 30-15

The Bulls were able to secure their first win on the road this season in the second match.

Football was beaten by the UConn Huskies by a score of 47-3 on Saturday at Pratt & Whitney Stadium.

UB football (3-2, 1-0 MAC) were beaten decisively by the UConn Huskies (3-2, 0-0 FBS I) by a one-sided score of 47-3 this Saturday at Pratt & Whitney Stadium. In what was their first match on a natural grass field since 2019, the Bulls were unable to reach the endzone, and their defense succumbed to the Huskies’ relentless offensive pressure.

Buffalo Bills field three former UB Bulls on Monday night for first time ever

Linebacker Joe Andreessen and cornerbacks Cameron Lewis and Ja’Marcus Ingram took the field for the Buffalo Bills in their Monday Night Football matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, marking the first time three former UB Bulls played on the same National Football League team together.

Women’s volleyball wraps up non-conference play in Florida

Following their victory over Niagara Purple Eagles Wednesday night the UB women’s volleyball team (4-9, 0-0 MAC) traveled to Gainesville, Florida to attend the Sunshine Invitation hosted by Florida. Buffalo were unable to come away with a single win, losing both of their matches 3-0. The Bulls have struggled in tournaments, having not won one since hosting the Buffalo Invitational.

UB softball won both exhibition games on Sunday’s doubleheader against the Edinboro.

After being defeated by the Niagara Purple Eagles in their fall ball opener by a score of 1-5, UB softball (2-1) won both exhibition games on Sunday’s doubleheader against the Edinboro Fighting Scots (0-2) at Nan Harvey Field with scores of 8-1 and 9-1, respectively.

Women’s soccer beats Eastern Michigan, goes 2-0 to open conference play

After beating the Akron Zips (5-2-2, 0-2 MAC) 2-0 on the road this past Thursday, the Bulls (7-0-2, 2-0 MAC) returned to UB Stadium on Sunday to battle the Eastern Michigan Eagles (4-4-1, 0-1-1 MAC), winning 1-0 after a goal in the 72nd minute.

The UB football team defeated No. 23 NIU on Saturday.

Football knocks off NIU 23-20 in OT nailbiter

In their first conference matchup of the 2024-25 season, UB (3-1, 1-0 MAC) upset the No. 23 ranked Northern Illinois Huskies (2-1, 0-1 MAC) 23-20 on Saturday after overtime, securing the program’s second ever victory over a ranked opponent.

Women’s soccer goes undefeated in non-conference play for first time in 25 years

This marks yet another historic accomplishment for the Bulls this season, as they also achieved their first ever top-25 ranking a few weeks earlier and are currently ranked 51st in the NCAA Rating Percentage Index. Buffalo also currently hold a top-20 spot in NCAA goals against average at .429.

UB’s football team (2-1, 0-0 MAC) beat the University at Massachusetts Minutemen (1-2, 0-0 A10) at UB Stadium on Saturday afternoon with a score of 34-3. This was UMass’s first appearance at UB Stadium since 2015 and marks their last meeting as a non-conference opponent, as the Minutemen are slated to become members of the MAC in 2025.
