UB women’s basketball falls at home to Northern Illinois

For three quarters, UB women’s basketball (16-7, 6-6) held Northern Illinois (17-6, 10-2) and their No. 3 scoring offense in the country in check. The Bulls entered the fourth quarter leading 65-60 before the Huskies ripped off 16 consecutive points to start the fourth quarter, opening up a lead they would never relinquish.

The Rundown: Weekend in UB Athletics

UB men’s basketball defeated Ball State (15-8, 6-4) 96-69 Friday in a nationally televised game at Worthen Arena. It was the third straight game in which the Bulls scored 90 points, the first time they have done that since the ’94-’95 season.

The Rundown: Winter break

Women’s basketball (15-5, 5-4 Mid-American Conference) After starting the season hot and jumping out to a 10-0 start, the Buffalo Bulls women’s team faced their first taste of defeat this season when they fell to Harvard 74-62 in their second game after Christmas.


For those who don’t have a stake in the game, prop bets are one of the most fun ways towatch the Super Bowl.

The rundown: Past week in UB Athletics

The Buffalo Bulls men’s basketball team got things back on track this week with their second victory of 2017. They defeated the Kent State Golden Flashes (9-9, 1-4 MAC) 82-69 at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center. The game included many large runs from both teams and finished with the Bulls on a 23-5 run.

UB men’s soccer head coach Stu Riddle to take job at Northern Kentucky

After four years a the head coach of UB’s men’s soccer program, Stu Riddle will be leaving the program to accept the same job at Western Kentucky, according to a Buffalo News report. “It’s a sad scenario to have to leave Buffalo,” Riddle told The Buffalo News. “Professionally, I thought I could do big things here, but with the resources at hand, this was as much as I could do.”

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick can overcome most roster deficiencies, but a good defense with a good game plan could challenge New England. The Chiefs are balanced on both sides of the ball and would give the Patriots all they could handle if they were to face off for the AFC Championship.

UB women’s basketball power forward Brittany Morrison sheds light on relentless rebounding

Brittany Morrison wants to be scoring insurance for the UB women’s basketball team. If the Bulls (6-0) miss a shot, three, or layup, the sophomore power forward wants to be there. Morrison has garnered a reputation amongst her teammates and coaches as a ruthless rebounder, despite being undersized. Morrison’s rebounding plays a fundamental part in the team's success, not just for second chance points, but for team confidence.


The Bulls came up short of a comeback and fell to the Bowling Green Falcons 27-19 Friday at Doyt Perry Stadium.

UB football falls to Bowling Green 27-19

With the end of their season in sight, UB’s football team nearly pulled off a comeback win on Saturday. “I don’t know if you’d call it a little bit of reckless abandon” said graduate transfer quarterback Grant Rohach. “Hey we were going for it, we were putting it down field regardless of if it was dicey or not, or risky, we were gonna leave it all out there.”

Western Michigan blows out UB football 38-0

The No. 21 Western Michigan Broncos (11-0, 7-0 Mid-American Conference) came into Saturday to show off for the College Football Playoff committee. They did just that. The undefeated Broncos dictated the game and came away with a 38-0 blowout of the Buffalo Bulls (2-9, 1-6 MAC) at a packed Waldo Stadium. Bronco’s redshirt senior quarterback Zach Terrell torched the Buffalo defense for a career high 445 yards as well as four touchdowns. His favorite target, senior receiver Corey Davis had 13 catches for 173 yards and two touchdowns.
