Get to Know an Opponent: Ohio

Following a dispiriting 34-20 loss to Miami(OH) (2-3), UB football (2-3) will return to UB Stadium to take on Ohio University (1-3) for their homecoming game Saturday. In their final non-conference game, the Bobcats were stymied by Louisiana-Lafayette, 45-25. Ohio enters conference play with a 1-3 record, after dropping contests to Pittsburgh, Marshall and Louisiana-Lafayette.

Bulls overpower Rockets in five-set matchup

In Saturday night’s thrilling five-set matchup, the Bulls (5-9) played earned their first conference win of the season.  The match kept both UB and Toledo fans on the edge of their seats, as the volleyball teams traded sets back and forth, with the Bulls finally overpowering the Rockets (7-7) in the fifth set, leaving the match 16-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-23 and 15-12.

We all have different songs for different moods.  The same goes for the Bulls football team, which warms up, practices and trains on music.  So we took to UB Stadium to discuss the Bulls’ favorites, recommendations and genres they avoid before their biggest games.

Where Germany meets Buffalo

Weitz, from Cologne, Germany, has dreamed of playing football in America for a very long time. And at UB, the linebacker is finally living that dream. As someone who previously played for the German National U19 team, Weitz already knew he had the talent. But as a linebacker on the smaller side, but he’s ready to prove himself on a new team, in a new country.

Get to Know an Opponent: Temple

The Bulls return to UB Stadium Saturday afternoon as 14-point underdogs against the Temple Owls. Coming off a 20-17 victory over then-No. 21 Maryland, the Owls are a formidable challenger to the Bulls, who struggled in a 35-17 loss to Liberty Saturday. The Owls have received seven votes in the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll, after defeating Bucknell 56-12 in week one and Maryland in week three.

Get to know an opponent: Liberty

Unlike the No. 15 Nittany Lions, the Flames are one of the Bulls’ most evenly matched opponents this year, dropping their first two games of the season in resounding fashion. The Flames made headlines this summer when they hired former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze.
