Hardwood Report Card

After finishing last week with a heartbreaking loss to Ohio (19-8, 9-5 Mid-American Conference) at home, the men's basketball team rebounded with a big 96-90 win at home against Akron and a 78-69 victory at Kent State (15-12, 6-8 MAC), its first ever in 17 chances at the MAC Center. Here is

Buffalo earns first win at MAC Center

Entering Saturday's game, the men's basketball team had never won at Kent State. After 11 minutes of game time, it seemed like this trend would continue. The Bulls hit only one of their first nine shots and began the game down 10-2.

Men's tennis in midst of historic season

Last season, the men's tennis team went 3-4 in 4-3 matches. Three of those losses came at the end of the season and, had the Bulls been able to defeat Ball State, they would have won the Mid-American Conference (MAC) regular season championship. This season, the Bulls have started 4-1.

20-1 run aids Bulls' comeback

The Bulls (14-9, 7-5 Mid-American Conference) turned a poor first half around to defeat Northern Illinois (8-14, 4-8 MAC), 66-57, on Saturday at Alumni Arena. The team wore all pink uniforms for the "Play 4 Kay" game to honor former North Carolina State women's head coach Kay Yow, who passed away from breast cancer in 2009. An 18-5 Northern Illinois run to end the first half put UB on the verge of suffering its second home loss in conference play.

UB Athletics reveals plans for renovations

On Thursday afternoon, the UB Division of Athletics released its Facilities Master Plan, laying out how the department plans to develop the area around Alumni Arena and UB Stadium. The plan includes renderings of a field house, soccer stadium and baseball field, upgrades to the softball field and renovations to UB Stadium and Alumni Arena. "[Athletic Director] Danny [White] wants to move quickly on everything," said Allen Greene, deputy director of athletics.

Hardwood Report Card

The men's basketball team entered the most difficult part of its Mid-American Conference schedule this week, traveling to Miami Ohio (9-13, 5-6 MAC) on Wednesday night and hosting Ohio (18-7, 8-4 MAC) on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls looked dominant at times in both games, defeating the RedHawks handily by a score of 75-62, but they fell 73-70 against Ohio - their first loss at Alumni Arena this season. Three-point shooting: B The Bulls were solid in their road contest against Miami Ohio, shooting 32 percent from beyond the arc, including four 3-pointers from senior guard Josh Freelove. But the Bulls faltered from deep Saturday.
