This weekend, softball (12-28, 7-12 MAC) took on the Toledo Rockets (14-26, 7-12 MAC) in Mid-American Conference (MAC) play.
Softball (5-22, 2-6 MAC) hosted the Central Michigan Chippewas (13-15, 5-2 MAC) in what was supposed to be a three game weekend, starting with a matchup on Friday at 3 p.m. followed by a doubleheader on Saturday. The second game on Saturday afternoon was cancelled due to weather. Of the two games that were played, the Bulls were unable to secure a win, losing 2-8 and 0-9 (five innings), respectively.
This past weekend, softball (2-12, 0-0 MAC) took home just one win at the Wofford Invitational in Spartansburg, South Carolina. The invite took off on Friday morning against the North Dakota Fighting Hawks (8-10, 0-0 Summit) with a quick win of 12-2 in just 5 innings.
UB’s softball team (1-4, 0-0 MAC) kicked off their season in Las Vegas this weekend by attending the Desert Classic hosted by the University of Las Vegas (UNLV) (3-2, 0-0 MW).
After being defeated by the Niagara Purple Eagles in their fall ball opener by a score of 1-5, UB softball (2-1) won both exhibition games on Sunday’s doubleheader against the Edinboro Fighting Scots (0-2) at Nan Harvey Field with scores of 8-1 and 9-1, respectively.
Alexis Lucyshyn heard it so many times: she would never make it to the Division I level for softball — and she started to believe it. Then, at a showcase in Florida during her senior year of high school, UB approached her.

UB celebrated its senior night and dropped to 12-35 overall during a series against Northern Illinois University.
Alexis Lucyshyn moved to Buffalo from Calgary, Alberta, Canada at 17 years old to be a pitcher for the softball team. She currently is leading the team in most stats as she finishes her senior year.
The Bulls currently rank No. 10 in the MAC with three series remaining before May's MAC Tournament.
