Officials call online apartment applications a success
By NATIA DAVITI | Feb. 28, 2005After a month of student anticipation and anxiety, on-campus apartment assignments were mailed out Monday as UB officials said the new online application process was a success.In previous years, apartment applications were done in person, on a first-come basis, and students would camp out for hours to secure a spot."The online application process was very successful, we ended up having few problems with it," said Michael Koziej, assistant director for University Residence Halls and Apartments.The only issue, Koziej said, was a technical one.
Bulls nearly sweep area rival Niagara

By JENNIFER GILLAN | Feb. 28, 2005Broken records, a repeat champion and top honors only meant one thing this weekend: UB was well represented at the Mid-American Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.Buffalo was led by senior swimmer Jennefer Brankovsky, who returaned to UB from Ohio University with a slew of honors.Brankovsky captured her second-straight victory in the 400-yard individual medley on Friday night with a time of 4:22.41, touching the wall three-tenths of a second ahead of Miami's Laura Armbruster.UB's top swimmer was also victorious the night before in the 200-yard individual medley, swimming her way to a first place finish in 2:02.94, a second slower than her record time when she won the event in 2003.Brankovsky won an additional event for the second time in three years on Saturday.

Faculty Senate considers new building for unused books
