"Spicy dances, food make for grand bazaar"

The hottest salsa on campus Wednesday wasn't bought in a store. Rather, it could be found with its spicy dance counterpart, merengue, in the rhythms and movements of students at this year's annual Latino Bazaar in the Student Union. That isn't to say there wasn't food. The purpose of the event, said coordinator Mitchell Chavez, is to expose students to different culture, art, dances, and of course, the ever-popular Latino food."(The event) is going well, we have a lot of students, and participation has been great.

Mandatory fee and SA focus misguided

I am an older student in her last senior semester at UB. And when I mean older, I mean older. I am upset about the fact that I have to pay a mandatory student activity fee of $400.00+. I know what it is forbut I also know that none of the activities on campus are gearedtowards older students.

Stuck in neutral

History seems to be repeating itself. For the second time in three years, UB football is off to a 0-6 start and will look to make some offensive changes as it hopes to notch a few in the win column against the rest of its scrappy conference foes. This Saturday the Bulls head to Toledo where they will face the surprising Rockets (5-1, 3-0 Mid-American Conference). Last week the Bulls' defense lined up against the Bowling Green with its bulls-eye on star quarterback Omar Jacobs, who UB held to minimal damage in a 27-7 loss.UB (0-6 overall, 0-3 MAC) was able to mostly contain Jacobs, allowing the junior just 184 yards on 18 completions while forcing two interceptions.

'Rollers' was well-written

I just wanted to say that I liked your article called, "The holy rollers" (Nicole Coleman, Oct. 10) I've not had the same trouble with those super religious types, but I'm sure if I had, I'd probably become a hateful person, which is why I'm glad I've not gotten too many of those weirdoes. It was a well-written piece and makes me think of the writings of a friend of mine whose writing also makes it worth being literate for me.
